After the success of 2022, the Greenford Quay Canal Festival is back for the August Bank Holiday for a final summer hurrah!
Taking place on Saturday, the 26th of August, 11am to 6pm.
This year’s event will focus on the theme of nature and sustainability; with plenty of activities for all the family to enjoy, including:
- Canal boat trips
- Arts and crafts workshops
- Circus performances
- Tricks workshops, magic show
- Face painting
- Garden games
- Street food
- BIG finale live band performance
The Lock is also hosting two Garden Workshops, Closing the Loop and Rebel Gardening.
Closing the Loop, 12pm – 2pm
How to reuse food waste by making compost tea, grow from food scraps and learn to propagate our throwaways to grow new plants.
Rebel Gardening, 3pm – 5pm
‘Guerilla gardening’ can be an easy, low-cost way to beautify a neighbourhood and increase biodiversity in an urban area that may otherwise be unloved and unused. Uncover the history of movement, some of the reasons why it takes place and learn to make seed bombs and paper seed pots.
